Today my friend Claire is throwing a  Dinner Party and we have all decided to dress "fancy" for the occasion. I have decided to wear a lace cream dress with black tights and black suede pumps and will accessorise with a gold chain and dark red nail polish. Hopefully tomorrow I will upload a few photos taken during this evening.

Here are some inspirations and influences that were present in my  "Growth and Decay" project. Throughout my project I took alot of time researching and developing up my ideas by taking inspiration from Connie Lim, Alexander McQueen, and Jean Paul Gaultier aswell as many other artists, illustrators and designers.

Growth and Decay Art Work

I recently completed a project based on the theme of Growth and Decay. I worked on large scale canvas by combining 4 medium sized canvas' to create one large piece, I also created 2 A1 size acrylic posters to advertise the fashion brand  Alexander McQueen and Jean Paul Gaultier, by researching their  fashion collections of recent years, I was then able to create pieces which were different yet still had features related to their work. I also worked alot on photoshop to create A4 size Jean Paul Gaultier inspired pieces.
  In my work I like to  mix subjects such as bones and internal organs with  elements of growth such as birds, leaves and flowers  I am also fascinated by day of the dead make up and this project allowed me to combine all these factors to create the finished pieces which are pictured above.

The Jezabels

 A four piece band from Australia known as The Jezabels are currently my new music obsession. Their debut album "Prisoner " was released last September and features some really good tracks including "Dark Storm", "Catch Me" and one of my favourites "Deep Wide Ocean". The Band are performing at this year's Electric Picnic and I would recommend anyone with tickets to go see them.

An Introduction

I'm an 19 year old art student, This month I have  just finished an art and design  foundation course and now have two weeks to decide if I want to go ahead and start a Visual Communications course or a Art History and English course in college next September both very different options but also two courses I am very interested in pursuing. 

    After much procrastination and indecisiveness I have decided to create this blog, I have often been told I should make a blog and now that it is Summer and I have free time so hopefully I will give it attention and update it on a regular basis. I think  it is  also about time I begin to launch my artwork into the open, to show interested individuals how I work and what I'm all about.If anyone is interested in any commissions feel free to contact me through this blog, my email or my twitter. 

    My main interests are fashion, art, movies, music, reading and photography so  you can expects posts about them  aswell as any adventures I end up on throughout the Summer. Updates are likely to be weekly and feel free to comment.
